The fine print, as plainly as we could write it.

DRAFT — NOT YET LEGAL ADVICE. These documents are starter drafts. Before Aangan accepts a paying booking they must be reviewed by Indian counsel competent in the IT Act 2000, the Consumer Protection Act 2019, the DPDP Act 2023, the CGST Act, and Section 194-O of the Income Tax Act. Replace this banner with the reviewed version before launch.

This is the flexible default policy that applies to all bookings unless a listing displays a different policy.

Guest-initiated cancellations

  • 7 or more days before check-in — 100% refund.
  • 3 to 6 days before check-in — 50% refund.
  • Less than 3 days before check-in — no refund.
  • After check-in — no refund for the remaining nights.

Host-initiated cancellations

Whenever a host cancels — for any reason — the guest receives a 100% refund. We may additionally levy a per-cancellation penalty on the host (see Host Terms).

Aangan-initiated cancellations

If we cancel a booking — e.g. on safety grounds or a failed KYC reverification — the guest receives a 100% refund and we help with rebooking where possible.

Force majeure

Where a stay cannot reasonably proceed because of an event outside either party's control (natural disaster, government-ordered shutdown, blocked roads for an extended period), Aangan will issue a full refund regardless of timing, on production of evidence. Eligibility decisions are at our reasonable discretion.

How refunds reach you

Refunds are processed to the original payment instrument — UPI, card, wallet or netbanking — via Razorpay. Typical settlement times:

  • UPI: same day
  • Cards: 5–7 working days
  • Netbanking: 3–5 working days
  • Wallets: 1–3 working days
