1. Who we are
Aangan is a technology platform operated by Aangan India Private Limited(CIN: [TO FILL], registered office: [TO FILL]), referred to in this document as "Aangan", "we", or "us". The platform helps travellers in India ("guests") book short stays in homes listed by hosts ("hosts").
Aangan is an intermediary as defined in section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. We do not own, operate, manage, or control the homes listed on the platform. The contract for a stay is between the guest and the host. Aangan facilitates the listing, search, booking and payment but is not party to that contract except as a payment collector under section 194-O of the Income Tax Act.
2. Eligibility
- You must be 18+ to use Aangan.
- You must be a resident of India, or a foreign national lawfully staying in India.
- You must provide a valid Indian mobile number for OTP verification.
3. Bookings
A booking is confirmed when (a) payment is captured and (b) for non-instant-book listings, the host accepts the request. Until both have happened, the host may decline and a full refund will be issued.
The total price shown at checkout is inclusive of GST (CGST + SGST/UTGST for intra-state, IGST for inter-state), the platform service fee, and the host's cleaning fee. There are no further charges payable to Aangan.
4. Cancellation & refunds
Cancellations are governed by the Cancellation Policyand Refund Policy. The default policy applies unless the host has chosen a different policy and disclosed it on the listing page.
5. Host responsibilities
Hosts agree separately to the Host Terms. In summary hosts must (a) have lawful right to list the property, (b) provide accurate information and photos, (c) honour confirmed bookings, (d) comply with local municipal, hospitality and tax law, (e) maintain the safety standards prescribed by Aangan, and (f) submit to KYC under sections 6 and 7 of the Host Terms before receiving payouts.
6. Guest responsibilities

7. Payments & TDS
We collect the booking amount and remit the host's share (gross minus our service fee minus any applicable refund) less 1% TDS under section 194-O of the Income Tax Act, 1961. The deducted TDS is deposited with the Government of India and reflected in the host's Form 26AS. Hosts may claim credit when filing their annual return.
